Something to Find
I met a man the other day
His eyes told me he was soulless
I couldn’t turn to look the other way
His life was chalk full of solecism
I knew his childhood hadn’t been so gay
One fine evening after a snooze
There was a man who jumped down the scree
I heard about it on the news
Someone must’ve heard him scream
He must’ve really known the blues
Sadness lingers all around me
Though I try not to get scared
I look for happiness wherever I can see
I search, regardless of its scarcity
That’s the pursuit that’ll set me free
