Harmless Words

Though he wrote it;

Meaning was not his intent.

When they read it;

Meaning was all they could find.

He meant only,

To express his feelings,

Without an argument

From his neighbour.

Each person who read it,

Found an altered meaning;

Suited to none but themselves.

As words are twisted

As words are turned

People argued and fought

For nights and for days

Over nothing but words.

Over nothing, but words.
